چکیده

Here, we define a framework where defeasible argumentation is used for reasoning about beliefs, desires and intentions. A dialectical filtering process is introduced to obtain a subset of the agent’s desires containing only those that are achievable in the current situation. Different agents types can be defined in the framework affecting the way in which current desires

A Logical Framework to Represent and Reason about Graded Preferences and Intentions

In intentional agents, actions are derived from the mental attitudes and their relationships. In particular, preferences (positive desires) and restrictions (negative desires) are important proactive attitudes which guide agents to intentions and eventually to actions. In this paper, we present a general logical framework to represent and reasoning about gradual notions of desires and intention...

A Framework for Multi-criteria Argumentation-Based Decision Making within a BDI Agent

The BDI model, as a practical reasoning architecture aims at making decisions about what to do based on cognitives notions as beliefs, desires and intentions. However, during the decision making process, BDI agents also have to make background decisions like choosing what intention to achieve next from a set of possibly conflicting desires; which plan to execute from among the plans that satisf...

Reasoning with Levels of Modalities in BDI Logic

Modelling real world problems using rational agents has been heavily investigated over the past two decades. BDI (Beliefs, Desires, and Intentions) Logic has been widely used to represent and reason about rational agency. However, in the real world, we often have to deal with different levels of confidence in the beliefs we hold, desires we have, and intentions that we commit to. This paper pro...
